Greetings one and all. Wow, this has been quite a journey. There are perhaps quite a few of you out there who have been following this series from the beginning so you are familiar with everything that has been going down.

For those of you who are new to this scene, here is a bit of a run down for you. This has been a 5 part series on anxiety. We have made the layout so that they will all intertwine so that no matter which article you are reading you will still get a feel for what happened in the last one.

The first article was basically an introduction to what exactly anxiety is, the second article covered a few natural ways to deal with panic attacks (anxiety attacks), and with the fast paced go, go world we live in it is great to know that we try to arm ourselves with ways to basically take care of ourselves.

The third article was a very personal article for me, it was an article based on stopping paxil, and it also covered the possibility of you being ready to stop it or not. Finally we got to the fourth article which was also a little emotionally draining as we proceeded to inform the reading audience what to expect when trying to stop taking paxil or any other mood altering drug cold turkey.

So now we will cover 5 different things that you can do to help you fight anxiety, some may be a little unorthodox but they work, just give them a chance and at least try them before you make a snap judgement.

1.Deep breathing exercises: During the worst moments of a panic attack, the way you handle your breathing will make or break your recovery time. Try taking slow, deep and cleansing breaths and above all, don’t hyperventilate. This will just set you back. You might end up with having a tight chest and feel your hands tingling, you know that awful feeling.

2. Meditation: Believe it or not, meditating during a panic attack can do wonders. It will help you to center yourself and you will be able to ride the attack like a wave and it won’t be as exhausting as it usually is. The easiest form of meditation is imagining a place where you feel very relaxed and serene. Keep telling yourself that you will get through this, make it your mantra.

3.Vitamin & Herb therapy: There are certain vitamins that you can take that will bring down the amount of panic attacks that you have and might even reduce the intensity of the attacks themselves. Vitamin B is excellent to start with. Then of course you have different herbs like St. johns wort, kava kava, pass ion flower and my personal favorite Valerian root. These are all amazing to help reduce how hard the attacks hit.

4.Aromatherapy: Every one knows that the best aroma to use when trying to relax is lavender. There are also a few other types of aromas as well, there is Jasmine and Chamomile as well.

Just remember that it all depends on what kind of person you are. What may work for someone else might not work for you. Don’t worry too much about it, it just means that you will have to find a combination that suits your individual needs.

Remember that it won’t be easy to find the combination that is right for you but keep trying and you are bound to hit the jackpot and find just the right combination or even just one type of remedy that will be perfect for you and it will make your life that much more manageable.
